LINDY’S MAGICALS

I’ve seen a lot about Lindy’s Magicals lately. Magicals are powdered, dye based pigments that come in flat (matte) or shimmer.

These powders are highly concentrated and are used with another medium such as water or transparent gel medium. Their site states to use them with a transparent medium since an opaque medium greatly diminishes the visibility of the Magicals.

Lindy’s Gang also has coordinated sprays (used in the tag below).

These powders and sprays are a mixed media artist’s dream!

Mixed Media Flower Birthday Card

Needed a Birthday Card for my lovely daughter! I created a background on heavy cardstock using stencils, Gelatos, embossing powder, die cuts and a script stamp.

Once my background was finished and dry (I let it dry overnight between two pieces of parchment paper), I die cut the flower out of the background.

Then I colored a piece of paper to coordinate (I use pages torn from an old dictionary) and glued it to the back, allowing it to peek through the opening created by the die.

Finally, I layered with a dark red cardstock onto white cardstock to finish. Done!
